  • Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

    Born:17 March 1920 – Died:15 August 1975

    Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a preeminent Bengali nationalist leader of Bangladesh. He headed the Awami League and was the first President of Bangladesh during the Bangladesh Liberation War, and later became Prime Minister in independent Bangladesh. He is popularly referred to as Sheikh Mujib (shortened as Mujib or Mujibur, not Rahman), with the honorary title of Bangabandhu.
  • Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani

    Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was a popular scholar and political leader in British India, (now Bangladesh). He remained a rural-based and non-colonially educated politician revered for selflessness and solidarity with the oppressed. His long political span takes the student of political history through British colonial India, Pakistan and Bangladesh periods.

    Ziaur Rahman was a Bangladeshi politician and first military dictator who served as the 7th President of Bangladesh from 21 April 1977 until his death in 30 May 1981. He was the announcer of the Bangladesh Liberation War on behalf of Bangabandhu. He formed and was commander of the Central Sector, BDF (Bangladesh Defense Forces) Sector 11, during the nations war of independence in 1971.

    Tajuddin Ahmad was a Bangladeshi statesman and freedom fighter. He served as the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and lead the wartime Provisional Government during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Ahmad is regarded as one of the most influential and instrumental figures in the birth of Bangladesh, due to his leadership of the provisional government in 1971.
